21:58 04 Dec 20We had our ducts cleaned two weeks ago. It’s pretty crazy thinking our home was built in 1957 and had never had the ducts cleaned, but that’s likely the case. Dust, hair, and who knows what else from last month through 60+ years ago is continually being circulated through your home, and you’re breathing it in, dusting and vacuuming it. Kind of gross. We saw before and after photos. There was even a tennis ball in one of the ducts. They said sometimes they find dead mice. I don’t want to think about what that could mean for the quality of air in your home.To clean them they had to take the vent covers off in each room, and run their hoses and vacuum equipment through the ducts. We were able to stay here and just shuffled between rooms a few times to keep out of their way as they went from room to room. It takes awhile, and is a little noisy but not extremely disruptive. Most importantly, it was worth it. As soon as they were done we were remarking how the air seemed immediately cleaner. It still really does. We were able to scale back the type of filter we use for the furnace, so the air is circulating better overall. Before this we always had to use a very thick filter, as if we didn’t, there’d be a thin cover of dust on everything within a day or two. Even with dusting multiple times a week, it would keep returning.Last week we had Capital come back and seal our ducts. Basically they put a glue type spray through them, which seals up any leaks. Similar to the spray you can get to plug a leak in a tire but on a grand scale. They first cover all your ducts to test how the air flows beforehand. Then they cover just about every surface in the house with tarps, and put the spray through the ducts. (Which is why it’s important to get your ducts cleaned beforehand.) Once they’re finished they do another test on how well air blows through the ducts. Ours showed they plugged up what would be equivalent to a 6 inch hole through our system. All that extra heat was blowing into our walls, ceiling, floors, instead of through the vents. You and your pets need to be out of the house for most of this, but it’s safe to come back as soon as it’s done. Ifthe weather isn’t ideal for this when you get it done and you have pets, I’d suggest they take a little vacation in the garage for the duration. (Freezing rain here that day for us...not the best weather.) We have heat in our garage so it was fine; a space heater (or fan if it’s hot out) would save most critters from strife in most weather extremes. When they were done, difference was immediate - the heat is blowing so much stronger through the vents. The house is warming up faster. I can feel air getting sucked through the return vents; like you can actually feel the air, which really feels cleaner, circulate. In the summer the AC will be equally improved.Joseph and Nick were here for the duct cleaning, and it was Joseph, Nick and David here sealing them the following week. They were helpful, friendly and professional. Thank you to all of them for doing such a great job.

18:20 02 Dec 20The service technician, Ethan, arrived within the window of time that was given to me. He called ahead to let me know his exact arrival time. He was very polite and professional. He explained what he would be doing and the amount of time it would take. Once the maintenance check was completed, he went over it with me to make sure I understood everything. He also showed me a few things he recommended to be replaced for a more efficient running furnace. That was much appreciated. I would highly recommend Capital Heating and Cooling. Thank you so much!

17:09 01 Dec 20The A Team Jon and David did an excellent job cleaning up my ducts & vents. They kept us well informed of what they were doing before and after the completion of the job. Their professionalism and knowledge reassured us about their ability to get the job done. Both my husband and I slept like babies, we could smell the freshness coming throughout the house. We are requesting the A Team for our next appointment. They are a great asset to your company. Thanks for making our life's a bit pleasant.

22:40 29 Nov 20Came out on Sunday! Big plus for me since I was moving into the new but older house and needed service ASAP. Well explained and friendly. Job well done.
23:28 27 Nov 20Great service from start to finish! Rep on the initial call was very thorough, answering all my questions and discussing potential costs and options. Service appointment was scheduled in a timely manner. Immediately received a confirmation email. Got a text and email letting me know the technician was on his way. It included a photo of him. While at the house the tech wore shoe covers and a mask. I appreciated the attention to safety measures! He patiently listened as I described the issue with the furnace. Problem was resolved within a short period of time. He took a lot of care in explaining what the issue was and how to avoid a reoccurrence. Received a follow up call from their Customer Advocate to ensure I was satisfied with the service. Each member of their team demonstrated stellar customer service. It's clear this company has a standard of excellence that they want to ensure is each customer experiences.

21:50 23 Nov 20We upgraded our old Nest thermostat and replace expired Nest Protect devices. The installer answered all questions and made sure the Nest devices were working with the Nest app.
21:59 19 Nov 20Kyle did a great job on my tune ups. Very honest guy.
21:09 17 Nov 20I am very happy with the work that was done. Anthony (Tony) and Collen are professional and nice. They worked quickly and efficiently. I will happily recommend them and Capital Heating & Cooling to my friends and family. I've included before and after photos of my basement. The new furnace and duct work have really opened up the space. The house is warm and comfortable. Thanks again guys.
20:55 17 Nov 20I asked for bids regarding the install of a new furnace. Justin R. came to the house and reviewed my 14 year old furnace and made 3 recommendations. So did two other salespersons. So what did I like about Justin and Capital Heating?Very Knowledgeable. He answered all my Qs satisfactory, and didn't try to upsell me. Took the time to discuss issued I raised, and helped guide a decision.Diligence.He focused on how my current system was set up, and unlike 2 other reps took measurements. Not only that, he was very through, including reviewing the amount of energy loss for the whole house.Nobody but Justin was interested in the age of the house, and what I had done to reduce energy use, window replacements, etc., so that the furnace could be adequately sized.I also got clear information about changing from a 1" filtration system (2 air returns) and choosing to install a more costly 5" filtration system on both intakes. to do so would take a significant about of sheet metal work given the space I had between the furnace, the water discharge, and the wall. After some discussion, I settled on putting in two 4" filters due to space constraints. I thought the quote to do the additional work was reasonable.Price.I was originally going to consider having a Goodman furnace installed (I had sold a house 10 years ago and put one in since I was selling the house), but he went through the downside, particularly in the COVID-19 environment which impacts getting parts in particular. I went with the Rheem system since I didn't want to wait possible weeks given the shipping and production challenges should a part fail. Ultimately it was a risk/reward (price) calculus. Freezing for several days while a part that isn't stocked locally is not what I wanted to have possibly happen.I paid more for his recommendation than a similar system, but I believe I got more value out of his recommendations. He also cautioned me about waiting until 2021 given the magnitude of likely price increases now that production was ramping up after COVID-19; he expects vendors will charge more, including as soon as January 2021, so I bought in November, 2020.Also, his price did not include a surcharge (3% from another vendor) if I charged the furnace on my VISA.Overall.A good experience. I recommend you contact Capital Heating at Capital HVAC.com for a bid (always get a couple of competitive bids; one bid I got was a lot cheaper, but the tech completely undersized the number of BTUs I'd need). Both price and service are important.PS> I decided to also add duct cleaning since it had never been done in a 28 year old house. I believe Justin indicated that they have 4 trucks that do this exclusively, and the techs have a certification and process that others are not likely to have. Will have this done after the furnace install.
17:59 17 Nov 20Kyle the tech from Capital Heating called to say when he would arrive. He arrived when he said he would . Kyle has excellent customer service skills and performed a great job on giving my furnance its yearly maintenance . After his work he explained everything he did and pointed out our air ducts really needed to be cleaned after 63 years. So we have Capital coming this Thursday to do the cleaning . When we saw the pictures of our air ducts we couldn’t believe how dirty they were.
16:22 16 Nov 20The two technicians were very nice and efficient. I was expecting an all day job but they got out of here by noon. Told me everything I needed to know, and also gave me a heads up about some other piping that was not installed correctly, and when the time comes I will for sure use them again.

19:23 15 Nov 20Capital Heating and Cooling is a certified company that was straightforward and detailed with their process from the first call. They were flexible to make it work within a short window of time that I gave them. Ebony was very kind, honest and helpful in getting us set up! Joe, the technician was timely with letting us know when he was going to be here, explained the process, and his process was very much like the video on their website! He spent a lot of time to ensure they are very clean, and his setup and take down was organized and respectful of our home! I highly recommend this company for your duct and vent needs!

The technicians are professional and do a great job.

22:52 06 Nov 20I hired Capital Heating & Cooling after my home warranty company told me that hot water was not a necessity last February since they were willing to quickly order and install a new water heater. It was then that I was sold on this local company to be my one and only company to work on my furnace (note: the warranty company that they hired to replace my unit only 6 month prior did a terrible job that Capital was able to fix and make right for me), water heater and central air system. I liked this company so much I even hired them to come and clean out all of my duct work and vents! If you are looking for a great company to work with for the products and service they cover, look no further! Pick up the phone and call them!

03:22 23 Oct 20I had my furnace replaced and the entire process was extremely easy and smooth. Justin, the salesman, was friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. Colin and Tony installed the furnace and did an excellent job. I used many other HVAC companies multiple times within the past few years in investment properties and have never had as good of an experience as I had with Capital Heating. They will be my first call next time!

She was more than willing to accommodate our schedule.Anthony our service tech, thoroughly serviced our furnace and a/c units. 22:52 01 Sep 20I have a hi-efficency boiler for a former 3-story convent with radiant heat. Capital was one of the few area companies certified to even work on my system. They are very good at what they do and I've never had better communications with a vendor. I've selected annual maintenance service and feel I am in good hands ✋.

09:21 01 Dec 20Good experience in getting an estimate on a furnace replacement. Cost was high compared to 5 other local companies. However, I was impressed with Tom's knowledge and his information. Whether that is worth the extra money is up to the consumer. It was too high for me, being about $1000 higher than the other bids.
